Citation Format Resources

Important notice regarding APA Style: The Sixth edition of the Publication Manual* was published in July 2009. Some resource guides on the Web have not been updated to reflect these changes. The APA has its own webpage at http://www.apastyle.org/index.aspx which details the changes.

• Landmark's Citation Machine Part of the Landmarks for Schools Web site, Citation Machine is an interactive Web tool that provides entry forms, soliciting information for selected information resources. The tool then assembles the entered information into APA or MLA format. Calvin College near Grand Rapids offers a similar service called KnightCite As of July 2009, there is no word about updates or editions on the Landmark site, but KnightCite promises an update is coming.
• Purdue University Writing Lab has two helpful guides. APA Formatting and Style Guide and MLA Formatting and Style Guide. Updated information is available on this site for both formats.
• APA Style Essentials by Douglas Degelman, Ph.D., and Martin Lorenzo Harris, Ph.D. offers an up-to-date overview.
• Psych Web offers a list of APA Style Resources that you may want to explore.
• APA (American Psychological Association)APA Research Style Crib Sheet provides a quick spot to check on proper APA format for citations. No information about updating as of July 2009.

• APA Style.org is the official APA site.
• APA Style for Electronic Sources is a guide developed by Trinity University's Coates Library to explain the June 2007 supplement to the APA Guide. Has been updated to reflect the 2009 updates.
