GRANTS FIGHT AUTO THEFT
The Automobile Theft Prevention Authority has matching grants available for auto theft
reduction programs administered by law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, judicial
agencies and community, neighborhood, and business organizations.
Enforcement, prosecution, community awareness and prevention programs are eligible
for funding. Grants must be used to enhance auto theft prevention efforts and not to
supplant existing programs.
A 25 percent match is required of all applicants except community organizations.
Grant funding comes from assessments paid by insurance companies to the authority.
The application deadline for the 1996 program is August 23. Grants awarded under this
program will be for the 1997 calendar year.
For an application form, contact the authority via mail or phone.
