DEPOSITORY LIBRARIANS IN THE NEWS
JUNE 2001

Cass Hartnett, former Regional Depository Coordinator at Detroit Public Library, and now at the University of Washington, was elected ALA Godort Federal Documents Task Force Assistant Coordinator/Coordinator-Elect for the upcoming year.

Cynthia Teague, InfoPoint, and former U.S. Government Documents Librarian at Michigan State University has a new son, George Frederick Teague Hougen, born at 9:43 p.m. Tuesday night, May 1st. Baby weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Soon it will be a year since Michael Vetman took over the Government Documents & Maps collection from Kim Ranger at Grand Valley State University (GVSU).  During the last year GVSU opened a new campus and library in downtown Grand Rapids.  The downtown library collection supports the academic programs which are taught at that location and includes GovDocs; especially J's, L's, and T's.  The opening of downtown library allowed us some extra space for future collection growth and consolidation.  Before GVSU, Michael attended and graduated from Kent State University Library and Information Science School.  Prior to that, he was commissioned in the US Army and served for 4.5 years in a various military intelligence positions in US and Europe.  Many of my duties involved Government Documents and Maps.
