DOCUMENTS LIBRARIANS (AND LIBRARIES) IN THE NEWS

Ann Swaney from the Osterlin Library, Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City forwarded the following photos of a shadowbox received from the Superintendent of Documents and a bookmark celebrating their 40th Anniversary as a Federal Depository (1964-2004). Ann also reports she has been a librarian at Northwestern Michigan College for 20 years and the government documents librarian for 15. Commemorative Shadowbox and Commemorative Bookmark.

Sally Lawler has been hired as a GPO Field Consultant serving the state of Michigan and working out of the Library of Michigan. Sally will begin work on March 24, and will typically be working on Thursdays and Fridays. For those of you who've been around a while, Sally was the documents coordinator for a number of years at Wayne State University and brings a lot of experience to this position. She is also continuing her half-time appointment at the Social Work Library at the University of Michigan. Sally Lawler's email address is lawlers@michigan.gov.

Due to budget constraints, the Library of Michigan will reduce its public hours on Mondays and Thursdays. Effective April 4, 2005, the Library’s public hours are:
