As I have had the opportunity to tell many of you in person this past
week, I will be moving to Tacoma, WA at the end of this summer, to seek
my fortune! I have thoroughly enjoyed my four years of work here in the
documents community and my ten years in the state of Michigan. My
significant other has landed a good job in Tacoma and I have decided to
see what the beautiful Pacific Northwest has to offer.
I will wax more eloquent/ sentimental at the June 10 GODORT of Michigan
meeting, but I just wanted to get the word out. Thanks for the warmth
and supportiveness of this particular group ... and you're all still
stuck with me until late July!

(2) Godort of Michigan Election News
It is my pleasure to announce the names of those individuals
who have agreed to run for openings on the 1996-1997 GODORT of
Michigan Executive Board:
In light of the Bylaws and previous practice, I will assume
Past-President. We will surely miss Cass Hartnett in this
position, but I will try to provide continuity at least. I have
asked Michael McDonnell to stand for re-election as Treasurer and
he has agreed to do so.
- Larry Hall (Alma College) for President-Elect/Program Chair
- Mary Karpinski (Library of Michigan) for Director-at-Large
Elections will be conducted on June 10th at the GODORT of
Michigan Annual Meeting. If you have any questions or would also
like to run for any of office, please contact me.

(3) Godort of Michigan Annual Meeting Announcement
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 10, 1996 at the Detroit Public
Library's Great Lakes Patent and Trademark Center (GLPTC) from 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
The agenda for the program is as follows:
9:00 a.m. Continental Breakfast (including bagels, danish, fruit, juice and coffee).
9:30-10:00 a.m. Registration
10:00 - 12:00 noon. Celeste Burman, Carla Reczek, and Ina Sue Nairn of the Great Lakes
Patent and Trademark Center will provide an introduction to the Center's
activities and the technology they support. This will also include a tele-
conferencing demonstration with the Patent Office in Washington, D. C.
12:00 -1:15 p.m. Box lunch with the choice of chicken salad or a fresh garden salad.
1:15 - 2:00 p.m. Tours of Detroit Public Library subject departments.
2:00-3:30 p.m. Annual Meeting and election/installation of new officers in Explorers Room.
Parking is free in the Detroit Public Library small lot that is accessed from
Putmam Street. Attendees must enter the building from Putnam through the
employees entrance because the rest of the building is closed on Mondays.
Reservations must be made by Friday, June 7th with Michael McDonnell at
McDonnell@WMICH.EDU. Registration costs $10.
