AFRICAN LANGUAGE EXPERT DIRECTORY
by Gretchen Walsh
(Nov. 2000)
The following people have graciously volunteered to provide language expertise for librarians cataloging materials in African languages. All information has been provided by the volunteers themselves and the ALC cannot guarantee its accuracy. Please note that some telephone numbers may or may not include country codes. The directory will be updated as time permits. Anyone wishing to be added to or removed from the directory should contact Gretchen Walsh, Boston University, African Studies Library at gwalsh@acs.bu.edu.

OTHER RESOURCES
Webbook of African Language Resources
A “work in progress”, this site includes a directory of language experts that can be searched by language or personal name. The directory is self-identifying. If someone is interested and works on some aspect of a language, she or he is free to submit his name and particulars. The creators of the site expect largely linguists, language teachers, translators, but also historians, librarians, school teachers, and others. The people in this directory have not volunteered to be a part of the ALC directory, but may be willing to help anyone who contacts them.
