College Guides Collection Policy
The College Guides Collection contains a wide variety of English-language
materials to assist users in the identification, evaluation, and pursuit
of higher educational opportunities at home and abroad. Included are:

Directories of college, university, vocational and technical school programs,
including specialized directories for specific fields of study (e.g. psychology,
medicine, law, etc.) and for specific groups of people (e.g. learning-disabled,
women, minorities, etc.)

Directories of alternative and non-traditional programs of study, including
distance-learning, virtual-university and correspondence programs

Guides to overseas study programs
-
College program evaluations, ratings, and rankings
-
Guides to college majors
-
College application and admission guides
-
Graduate and professional school test preparation resources
Excluded are:

Directories of elementary and secondary educational institutions
-
College "survival" guides such as how-to-study manuals
Financial aid and internship directories are located nearby in the Funding
Center. Copies of U.S. college catalogs are available via CollegeSource;
foreign catalogs are available on microfiche in the PRR/Microforms Library.
