available in the Software library as a CD-ROM. It is intended as a
first reference for basic health problems. It includes self-diagnostic
flowcharts, as well as illustrated discussions of health and illness for
a lay audience.

of Iowa Family Practice Handbook by Graber, Allen and Levy is an impressive
Web-based clinical reference tool.

Physicians' Desk Reference (shelved in Science Reference
at call number RM671.A1P48) identifies thousands of drugs, their use, and
possible side-effects. The "PDR" is the best known of several similar titles,
all shelved in this same area.

America's Best Hospitals from U.S News and World
Report rates over 1,000 U.S. hospitals in sixteen specialties. Shelved

Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (Fourth
edition), better known as the "DSM-IV," is the standard diagnostic reference
